got my boards today ... so happily playing 🙂

but one thing caught me out, I use my other BBB via ethernet, so tried to do the same with Bela (and the supplied SDCard) ... no go.

after installing the USB drivers, and logging in, I found the issue is eth0 is not auto started

in /etc/network/interfaces

# The primary network interface
# auto eth0

whereas if you want to use ethernet, ,you will need to uncomment this

# The primary network interface
auto eth0

pretty obvious if your used to linux, but the 'last resort' section of getting started implied it was active. (as it is on other BBB distros) - anyway hopefully this will help.

I also had some issues with it not registering via dhcp... eventually I used dhclient to request one explicitly and this worked. though I need to check, as this may have been due to running the usb0 connection at the time. I'll check tomorrow when the dhcp lease expires.

Is there a reason to not have eth0 active by default? its pretty handy especially if you have multiple boards and/or a network router close by 😉
