Hi,

has anyone tried using Ndef remotely?

Im having issues
(on Salt, but Id assume the same is true for all belas)

so if I try the following locally (via Bela IDE) , it works fine.

but if I connected remote from SCIde running on my Mac, it does not work 🙁

Ndef(\a).play;
Ndef(\a, { SinOsc.ar()});

to be specific, I just dont get any sound when sent remotely...
(I can see that the notes are created on the server, so it appears to be some kind of 'bus routing' issue)

note:
synthdef/groups etc all work fine , the following in the same remote scide session works fine

x= {SinOsc.ar()}.play();
x.release(2);

fyi: using the default remote configuration for both client and server,
so on the client i run the following before any of the above

Server.default = s = Server("belaServer", NetAddr("salt.local", 57110));
s.options.maxLogins = 4; // should match the settings on the Bela
s.initTree;
s.startAliveThread;
);

and as i said, this works for the sound, its just Ndef (and other proxy services)

thoughts?

ive searched online ,and cannot find anything that says the remote server is different
except some reference about servers time having to be in sync, unless you set s.latency=nil, and that didnt help either 🙁

its a big problem as the proxies are kind of central to live coding, so without them Bela/Salt cant really do any dynamic coding 🙁
