I can't see to connect the flexible piece to the base of the sensor. It doesn't attach properly and is very loose. Am I suppose to remove the black part first and then attach it?

    AtomicAlmond No, the black part is the stiffener, the contacts are on the other side. The orientation is also correct on the image. Make sure the FFC latch is open, then insert the flex into the connector as deep as possible, make sure it sits straight. Then close the latch.

        Am I supposed to push deep enough until the black strip isn't visible? I'm having trouble closing the latch. Thanks for the help!
