Hi Ryjobil,
Thank you for your reply, very helpful..
1) I have used Arduinos and other microcontrollers, for sensorbased instruments etc, among other things, aware of the syntax.. more referring to Bela's own calls/structure, slowly figuring it out.. (I have always been a strongly visual person, nodebased systems make more sense to me than code as text 🙂.. it is possible that I have a form of dyslexia, which hinders me further..
2) I myself studied at NYU ITP where Tom Igoe collaborated on Arduino dev with Massimo early on.. I have had interesting chats about this with Massimo of Arduino in NYC at Eyebeam a few years ago (re: what is the most intuitive way to code with a good flow etc, whether there is a middle ground between text, nodes, or something totally different.. interesting variances between people).
3) Peak value: Yep, I do get it.. This is a similar matter as Dr. Andras Szalay's Axon neural chip midi guitar converter, which predicted the pitch of a guitar/bass/cello signal based on raising edge, first 1/4 of a waveform, from a pick transient.. rather than having to follow two-three consecutive waveforms like the much slower Roland etc gear (Traditional pitch to MIDI interfaces).. Szalay made the Axon AX100/66/77, Yamaha G50, Zeta's violin converter, and the Akai Deep Impact/Pandamidi Future Impact bass synth pedals etc.. great moog/theremin/tesla/steve chick like genius..
Anyway,
Best regards,
Marko.
