Bela with BeagleBone blue

Dear forum,

I am looking for a BeagleBoard that has higher performance specs than the BeagleBone Black. The BeagleBone AI seems to be an alternative, however I'll have to test it since support is experimental only.
The BeagleBone Blue does not have the 2x46 head pins. Does this mean it's incompatible with the Bela board?

it turns out it's no longer available for sale. It has been discontinued in favour of the BBAI64, but we don't have any real support there, only some initial steps. One issue with the BBAI64 is that it is expensive and big and it also comes with a huge heatsink

Yes it means that and anyhow it's running on the exact same CPU as Bela, so it wouldn't be beneficial. Hopefully we'll soon have reasonably priced more powerful options available!
