Repairing/Debugging broken Trill bars

Hi there,
during my experiments I guess, I killed two of my Trill bars. Thus I wanted to check if its possible to repair them or try to find out the issue.

Number one should be simple, during desoldering of the connector I put to much force on it and removed the pad. So I guess using the "rest" for VCC might work, right?

Number two is a bit harder. I had it connected with adhesive tape and when I removed it, I guess I scratched the wires as you can see in the picture. When I try to use it, its no longer found. Or is this unlikely and might be something else? Is there anything I can try to measure or check?

No. You can find VCC on the pads of ADR[0,1] that are closest to ADR[1,0]. In the picture you posted, the solder blob on ADR0 is VCC. See if you can solder a wire to it.

those traces carry the signal to the sensing pads, but have no GND, VCC or I2C signals on them, so the device should still work, however some of the sensing pads may not be working. If you cannot detect it then the issue may be elsewhere on the device, see if there is any other damage, perhaps a lifted resistor? Did you try addressing the device at a different address of the available address range (0x20 through 0x28 inclusive) ?

So its back in action again ;-) my mistake was using the wrong address. Used your detect example and it found tha bar at address 27. I currently do not understand why, I have only soldered the jumper for +1, and if I measure with the DMM there is no measurable connection between, but at least I can use it!
