Hi,
I'm trying to get a project up and running where the Bela board is used to manipulate a voice audio input in real time using Pure Data.
The patch works on my PC, so I started trying to use the board.
Using the tutorials, I got the board to make a noise I could hear through the headphones, and then I moved onto a simple patch to just take in a mic input to hear myself back again, however I could not get it to work.
My mic uses a 3.5mm audio jack so I hoped I could just use it straight away. I hear a 'click' sound when I first run the patch, then no audio after that.
This mic is not powered, and after reading through multiple other questions here, I bought a powered mic, but as I am borrowing the Bela board from my department, I don't want to kill it accidentally by plugging in something I shouldn't.
So my question is, will a 3.5mm audio jack mic that is powered by a 1.5v battery kill the bela board if I just plug it straight into the jack?
Should my other mic that is just a simple, unpowered lapel mic I use with my PC have just worked?
Thank you!
