kelvint I tried connecting the Bela to my computer but it only shows a solid blue LED near the barrel jack and there's no flashing LEDs near the USB connector. the IDE also won't load up and I can't see the BELABOOT external drive in my computer. https://learn.bela.io/using-bela/about-bela/troubleshooting-guide/#board-will-not-power-on The Troubleshooting Guide is telling me to update the software image but I can't because the IDE won't load. What should I do now to load the IDE? I also noticed that the bottom part of the BeagleBone feels really warm. Is it normal?
giuliomoro hmm that doesn't sound good .... did you plug any signals and/or devices / sensors into Bela before this happened?
kelvint giuliomoro I had plugged my Korg nanokey Studio into the USB host port of Bela and powering it via USB, and then the Bela's onboard LED went off. The same thing happens when powering with a 5V power supply.
giuliomoro Right, was the board resting on a metal surface or did any of the contacts at the bottom of the PCB somehow get shorted, even temporarily, while the board was on?
kelvint giuliomoro no there was no contact between anything and the bottom of the PCB. do you think I should get a new Bela Cape or a new Beaglebone Black?
kelvint giuliomoro there's still just a solid blue power LED. I tried turning it off by holding down the Power button on the Beaglebone Black; the power LED turns off for half a second and then stays on again. no flashing user LEDs on the BBB.
giuliomoro It is likely that it will just be a dead beaglebone (the "very warm" is something I haven't observed, but also it's subjective), but it may as well be an issue with the internal storage. Have you got a micro SD card at hand that you could flash with this image ? Then try to force boot from SD card with Option A or Option B here.
