BeagleBone/Bela Fried

Hello everyone,

Not sure what I did, but I think one of the wires, while plugged into the 3.3v output on the Bela wrapped around, and touched the underside of the BeagleBone. Since then, the device does not turn on and simply blinks once when I plug the USB in. I think it's dead.

I'm curious whether this means that just the BeagleBone is fried, or the Bela too. I don't have another BeagleBone on hand, so I can't test it right now. Has anybody else experienced this? I forgot how sensitive they were, and alas it's my fault.

it should be just the beaglebone: some of the pins on the underneath are 1.8V or even only 1.1V tolerant, so you probably killed that. You should be able to easily get a replacement from your local Digikey/Mouser/Farnell/SeeedStudio dealer

giuliomoro Follow-up: is there any way to figure out whether the Bela is still okay besides just getting a new BeagleBone?

Most likely (99%) it's fine, but unfortunately there is no way of testing it without getting a new BeagleBone.
