Bela not finding TrillCentroids.kr on boot

I find the suggested workflow is more complex than needed (besides being inaccurate as you point out and outdated ( as the target folder now is in /usr/share and no longer in /usr/local/share). All you need to do (I think) is copy these files:

If /usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/ exists, just create the subfolder TrillUGens there . If it doesn't exist, then you probably are running an old version of Sc and should update your board: https://learn.bela.io/using-bela/bela-techniques/updating-bela/

But Bela says:

ERROR: file '/usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens/TrillUGens.sc' open failed
Library has not been compiled successfully.

I have made a dir and the files looks like be there:

dir /usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens
TrillCentroids.so TrillRaw.so TrillUGens.sc

Any idea about how to solve this?

I think you have some error in the content of TrillUGens.sc and/or the .so files. Can you check the content of the .sc file and perhaps redownload them all?

if you were to do ls -l /usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens/, you would see that those files are actually symlinks to the non-existing location /Downloads/TrillRaw.so (etc). This is because this line

doesn't actually do any copy. It creates a new file at the location /usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens/ TrillRaw.so which is a symbolic link to the path /Downloads/TrillRaw.so on Bela itself, which clearly doesn't exist. So SuperCollider sees a file in /usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens/ TrillRaw.so, it tries to open it but it finds a broken symbolic link and throws that error.

The correct command has to run from your computer in order to copy the files to Bela. You can use scp or rsync, for instance:

scp /Downloads/TrillRaw.so root@bela.local:/usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens/

rsync -av /Downloads/TrillRaw.so root@bela.local:/usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGens/

(Note that you may need ~ in front of /Downloads, or more in general, replace /Downloads/TrillRaw.so with the correct path on your computer)

not sure why you have this file/folder ... can you try running on Bela:

rm -rf '/usr/share/SuperCollider/Extensions/TrillUGensrsync

and then - just to verify you have the right files:

Thanks Giulio. I ran the core but TrillUGensrsync it was still there. I move to the directory and deleted with rm directly.

Now I am trying the example, and nothing happens when I touch the trillbar. I checked C+ visual example and it is working propertly but with supercollider example get this but I cannot see any change:

I just fixed a couple of issues in the ugens and rebuilt the binaries. Can you re-download the .so files onto the board and try again? Note: you probably want a prescaler of 2 or larger for Trill Bar.

I had to copy the content of the last one, TrillUGens.sc, becaue my browser open as a web, so I copied and paste in a emprty .sc file and save with the same name before uptoad to Bela. I explain this becaus if this could be a problem.

that's probably fine, It would show an error earlier on if it failed to load the .sc file.

xxl But I am having the same problem.

That screenshot by itself doesn't denote any errors. The underruns/mode switches are expected (the instantiation of the sensor happens from within the audio thread) and the 0 0 0 0 readings are expected when you are not touching the sensor.
What you should, however, see if you are setting the prescaler to 2 in your .scd code as I did here, is that by swiping your finger on the device you get one or more non-zero readings corresponding to touch location and size.
