WILLPOWER Hi, is there a way to use a dark theme with bela ? The white screen feels strong on my eyes from coding, so I was wondering if this was a possibility. Thanks 🙂
Laimonade Sorry for the delay, I've been completely swamped by work! I'll try to have it ready for the end of the week 🙂
Laimonade Okay, I think I was a bit optimistic. I'm working on a big project on my Bela which I'm submitting in 2 weeks so I won't have it ready until then. Should be ready by the 20th!
giuliomoro I think @Laimonade has some commits here https://github.com/Laimonade/Bela and is waiting some feedback from me. Probably not the cleanest implementation at this point but possibly usable enough to give it a try?
mktwohy I know this thread is nearly a year old, but I plan on getting a Bela soon, and I was wondering if a dark theme was ever added?
giuliomoro hi there, there is a pull request for this and it's currently under review. It looks OK overall, just needs some cosmetic changes and then I'll pass it by our designer.
Kametor Hi @giuliomoro, what is the status of this work? White theme is very uncomfortable, thanks 🙂
giuliomoro Ward click your name next to the notification icon and then 'night mode' That's for the forum, but the thread is about the IDE. Kametor what is the status of this work? The PR is still there, I can bring it up to date so you can use it.
giuliomoro done, try https://github.com/BelaPlatform/Bela/tree/dev-dark-theme one thing I noticed is that on first load things will look only halfway dark. You'll need to go in the IDE settings and select dark mode for everything to work as expected. Completely independently, we recently added dark mode to the scope in the dev branch of Bela. Just load the scope with bela.local/scope?darkMode=1
noah ...as another slightly "less invasive" solution, I can recommend using a browser plugin. For example Dark Reader - works wonderfully with the Bela IDE for me!
