I am working on an installation that manipulates 4 pre-recorded tracks based on distance from a specific object. I'm using the HC-SR04 sensors and have wired up 4 of them to the Bela using all the amazing information you've already posted on here.
They work fine, all 4 of them, going into the Bela and into PureData and manipulating the audio playback just as I want it. However, the audio from the analog out pins aren't great, and this installation will need 4 stereo outs, so I want to use my audio expander caplet. As soon as I do this, the sensors stop working.
The sensors get the same amount of power with the cape on and off (3.6v), and the sensors receive the Trigger signal from the board (confirmed with an oscilloscope) but they don't appear to be getting an echo response.
I've tried a whole bunch of things to rectify it, I'm mostly confused as to why the sensors work without the cape but not with it. My main questions at this point would be:
Would the expander change the strength of the analog out pin for the Trigger message? It's running from [dac~ 10] on J9.
Would the expander do anything to the digital in pins that would receive the Echo?
What super simple setting am I missing that would fix everything instanstly?
here's a screenshot of my messy but functional patch:
