Run Pd patch on boot

Hi,

I'm having trouble running a patch on boot. I'm trying to assign the patch to run by using the IDE, but the only two options that show up are "none" and "basic." "basic" runs when I boot up if I choose that option, but I would like to run my own patch. Am I not loading a file somewhere?

Hi Colin

To get a patch to show up in the run-on-boot menu in the IDE you need to create a project for it. So click on 'new project', select a PD project rather than a C++ one, upload your patch into that project, and then you should be able to select it from the dropdown.

Hi again. I've done all of these things, but the Pd patch still won't play on startup. The patch shows up in the projects menu, and I select it, and the console says enabling startup. Running the 'basic' program works on startup. I also tried starting a new project, naming it, selecting it in the drop down menu, but that doesn't seem to work either. I did the same thing with a C++ program, and it worked fine. In short, it seems that C++ programs work, but Pd patches don't. Any suggestions?

Hi Colin,
it works for me. This was a bug which was fixed back in June. What version of the Bela code are you running on your board?

If you are running one of the latest, please type this into the console at the bottom of the IDE

cat /root/Bela_startup.sh

and paste here its output

Output is: Running Bela...

However, I get no sound with the Pd patch. I do get sound with the basic program. I'm running what I thought was the latest version:2016.06.27

Although, now I'm noticing that the fix was made on June 29 and my version is June 27. I'll update and let you know the results.

great, yes there have been a couple major releases after June 27!
