What version of Safari ? Could you give it a try with another browser (e.g.: Chrome or FIrefox)?

Safari version 13.1. I tried with Chrome but could not get it to link with Bela - it timed out 4 times. I had quit from Safari at the time. Coming back to Safari after that was fine and it comments. Is there anything specific about a browser that 'reserves' the link or something?

No that shouldn't be the case. What address are you using to connect in the end?

this is really weird. Could you open the developer console in the scope page (press CMD SHIFT J in Firefox, or CMD ALT J in Chrome) and see if there is any error there?

OK so I tried Firefox which got going immediately with Bela.local and exactly the same thing, programming is running, Scope (only one - I stopped Safari and Chrome first) up showing 'waiting' as before. Firefox is Version 75 Hoping you can come up with something .... In the meantime, I am right that I have to set the output analogue adc output to be between zero and 1?

This is what came up for CMD/SHIFT/J in scope:

I do not recal which call I was trying in Chrome - I assume I have to disconnect in Firefox to move again and I think I should stay with this as it appears to be working (unless there is a scope issue)!

This is very weird and I cannot reproduce it in any way. Can you update to the latest Firefox (75)?
If the problem persists, can you run the following line in the console at the bottom of the Bela IDE:

sed -i 's:// \(printf("connection\):\1SCOPE:' libraries/Scope/Scope.cpp

Then go to your Project Explorer and press the Clean project icon and restart the program. At that point, check that you get a line that says "connectionSCOPE" in your console after the program starts and you refresh the Scope page (this would denote that the Scope websocket has established a connection between the browser and the backend).

Also, can you take another screenshot of the Firefox console after ticking the "XHR" and "Requests" boxes on the top right?

Also, can you try running the example PureData->scope , just so we make sure that there is no issue on the patch side?

I am already on Firefox 75 as I downloaded it fresh yesterday. OK tried the scope example - same thing happens. Ran sed -i 's:// (printf("connection):\1SCOPE:' libraries/Scope/Scope.cpp which seemed to run OK and the cursor came back with no errors. Then I am stuck (sorry but I am still very much a newbie in Bela) as I cannot find 'Project Explorer' and 'Clean project' - I am missing something obvious I suspect ....

Also I cannot find "XHR" and "Requests" boxes on the top right. Apologies.

these are in the Firefox console window, see the screenshot you posted above.

In the Bela IDE, on the right hand side, the top tab, where the file list is, is the "Project Explorer". See screenshot:

OK - I did all of this using Firefox 75 and the scope example - here is the screen:

Is this definitely the console you opened from the scope window? I see it tries to connect to gmail and facebook, which the scope wouldn't do. Can you close that console window and opening it again by pressing cmd shift j when you are viewing the scope window, just to be sure?

Hi David, I think the best option at the moment would be for me to remotely access your computer to understand what is happening. I will follow up over email.

Hi again, I am having some difficulty with digital inputs and outputs. I am trying to code a 3X4 keypad by addressing each line of 3 in turn via three digital outputs and then checking each of the four for any digital input. What seems to be happening is that the digital inputs are permanently in an 'ON' state.

My declarations are as follows and I have also tried them without the Tilda :

I wonder if you can see anything that is not right? In Pd itself the digital inputs are all 'enabled' and the outputs are coming on in sequence.

you are enabling the inputs and outputs as audio rate (see the ~ you have in there), but then you are using the control-rate version of the inputs/outputs. So you should just remove the ~ from the initialization message.
