hi there, long time no post :-)
i am tinkering with the idea to sensorize my doublebass and i would very much like to turn the steel strings into som e kind of sensor, like a softpot.
are there any very thin and very durable resistive materials i could use to form a softpot from the strings and the material i put on the fingerboard?
does somebody have other ideas to measure strings that are being pressed on an ebony fingerboard? i wish to have an accurate reading of the pressed position.
i am also thinking about measuring the frequencies of each string individually and have done so in the past, but i would prefer a solution that treats the string more like a sensor then evaluating frequencies from played notes...
maybe a capacitive grid or something?
any ideas/inputs welcome. i am happy to change the fingerboard to accomodate sensors/material if needed
