Hi everyone,
I am exploring a small audio project using Bela to create a [sleep](
) sound and white-noise generator.
The idea is to build a device that can play different relaxing sounds, such as white noise, pink noise, rainfall and soft ambient audio. I would also like users to adjust the volume and switch between sound types using physical controls.
My current plan is:
Use Bela for real-time audio generation
Add buttons or potentiometers for sound and volume control
Connect the output to a small speaker or headphone amplifier
Keep the device running quietly for several hours
Reduce any electrical noise that could disturb the listener
I would appreciate advice on a few points:
Is Bela suitable for continuous overnight audio playback?
What is the best method for generating smooth white and pink noise?
How can I prevent clicks when switching between sounds?
Would a small external amplifier be recommended for the speaker output?
Are there any power-supply or grounding issues I should consider for a quiet bedroom device?
This is still an early project, so any examples, patches or hardware recommendations would be helpful.
Thank you.
