I bought a Bela with the Kickstarter and did a couple things to see how it worked and then set it down. I'd like to integrate this into my home recording setup somewhat like a standalone effects processor which I can patch in at my whim.
I have set up rtpMIDI on my Windows machine which makes it possible to use the TouchDAW Android app on a Wifi connected tablet to control SONAR. And I see there is a Raspberry Pi rtpMIDI project which is active in the past few months, and am thinking this might be adaptable to the Bela. https://github.com/ravelox/pimidi
I've used pd and SuperCollider a bit and think I can handle that.
My initial goal is to try to reproduce some of the clocked/sequenced filter or flanger effects I can get out of my Adrenalinn III box. The Adrenalinn unfortunately is really old and not reliable and likes to spew out full amplitude white noise every so often until you power cycle it. But I love some of those sounds!
So I'm really only looking to get MIDI real time, e.g. clock, start and stop, from the MIDI stream.
While I'm willing to attach a MIDI hw adapter, it does seem silly to have to do that in this day and age.
I'm also interested in using something like TouchOSC for the UI rather than connecting up a bunch of pots and switches, but that seems do-able already.
Thanks for any insights into this!
