Flickery LEDs in control mode with single slider

I recently bought a Gliss and while I'm loving the module I'm wondering are the LEDs working as intended:

In control mode with a single slider the LEDs often flicker rapidly as in the video attached in a way that doesn't reflect the outputs. Monitored on an oscilloscope the outputs are more stable and respond to touch in a natural way. Curiously in record mode with a single slider there is no flickering and the LEDs visualise the output more logically. All settings should be default and changing the pressure gain doesn't seem to affect the flickering too much.

Is there something strange going on with my unit or is it working as intended?

that's a weird behaviour that I have not seen before ... you say the CV output remains pretty steady? Is it true of both the top (position) and bottom (size) outputs? Does the visualisation change if you set the touch size all the way to the maximum?

Yes, the CV output seems quite steady for both outputs and they seem to react to touch naturally.

Do you mean changing the touch sensitivity gain all the way up or just pressing harder? Well in either case when the bottom output is outputting it's maximum value the LEDs are stable.

I think what may be happening in the video is that the touch size gain is small and the brightness is high. Then, small fluctuations in the touch size result in large variations in the brightness. Try setting both controls to the midpoint and see if that gets rid of it? Also, does it still misbehave in Record mode with touch input set to single slider? And if switching touch input to slider+touch?

Both of those settings are in the default positions in the video I posted and changing them (other than setting touch sensitivity gain to the max position) doesn't really affect the flickering, just the sensitivity and the brightness.

There is no flickering in record mode with a single slider (as I said in my first post) and that's why I thought this behaviour in control mode was strange. Should the two modes visualise the output in the same way?

They should visualise the same output yes .. can you try slider+touch instead of single slider?

Slider + touch works and visualises as intended, only the visualisation of single slider in control mode is affected.

Out of interest I went back to the old firmware still available on the website updater, and with the old firmware the visualisation of control mode with single slider works as it should with no flickering, the same way as in record mode.

Now I updated back to the newest firmware and the flickering returned, same as before. Are you sure this is not a bug in the newer firmware? Or is my unit working differently for some reason?

It sounds like that's the case, but no one has reported it before, despite it having been out for almost two years now, and thousands of units shipped with it. Give me a few days and I will verify that.

Haha no problem, I'm just happy to know I don't have a faulty unit.

Gliss is such a beautiful controller and the visualisations are a big part of that appeal to me so nice if it can be fixed.
