BillW I have a Bela Gliss and like the lights. Does the Flex strip alone have LED capabilities? I'm working on something that could be fun to have some kind of animated light show. If not, how does the gliss do it?
max If the question is if the Trill Flex sensor has LEDs, then the answer is no. Gliss on the other hand has a strip of addressable RGB IC LEDs under the touch strip.
BillW Thx! Any details for how it does that? I don't see anything under the touchstrip, so I assumed its part of the strip. Do any of the other Bela sensors have LED's? Is Gliss open source at all? Like could I create a mode where it sends out midi CC?
giuliomoro Gliss is open source and it has basic midi support already: it can respond to midi messages on the usb port. A few changes to the firmware could send out CC that mirror the voltage outputs. Note that the position of the usb port on the side od the moduele will prevent it from being used next to another module when using the USB. Gliss firmware is here and in this repo's subrepos https://github.com/BelaPlatform/gliss-firmware
BillW giuliomoro One more quick Q re the LED's. I take it that on a Gliss, the LED's are on the board that's under the Bela sensor? I notice the Trill is a little larger than the bela sensor and the zigzags are spaced a little wider. So I guess it's a custom printed design specifically for Gliss and the LED shine through. Thx!
