Are the line out and line in put pins shortcut protected on Bela Gem Stereo?

After unplugging a mini jack connected to line out the Bela crashed doesn't work any more. I think the pocket beagle still works because the ide starts up but the board won't run any program and give a McASP error, abort.

Was this using the onboard headphone out jack or a jack somehow connected to the 5x1 line out header?

I connected the 5X line out but only used ground and positive. I needed an unbalanced signal.

Those pins are connected directly to the TLV320AIC3104, with no additional protection. I doubt a short-circuit would be the cause for the issue; I would rather expect an ESD discharge of sort. What was connected to the other side of the cable? Can you print the log of the running project?

The Bela was connected to an di direct in to a mixer. When I run the program now

if you have an oscillscope or logic analyzer, it would be helpful to see whether you have clocks on any of P2.11, P2.19, P2.10 when the program starts.
