BelaMini randomly gets into a high latency / glitchy state

Hello!

My other BelaMini (yes, I have two), sometimes while I’m using it and it’s working perfectly fine, suddenly starts having a very high latency (more than half a second) and sounds somewhat glitchy. This only happens occasionally, and so far and after many experiments I haven’t found any sure cause-effect relationship that explains what triggers this state.

The only correlation I’ve noticed is that it tends to happen quite often when I unplug and plug back in the jack cable from the audio output. That doesn’t really make much sense to me as a reason for the Bela to start malfunctioning. But statistically, I’ve confirmed that there must be some kind of connection.

Does this make any sense to you?

(The setup consist of a midi controller and midi interface connected to the BelaMini via a USB hub)

what type of latency are you experiencing? Audio in to audio out, analog in to audio out or midi in to audio out?

What block size are you using?

It is midi in (from the midi controller) to audio out. (or perhaps could be just latency in the audio out and the midi has nothing to do with the latency¿?)

The block size es 128 samples.

does it happen only when you unplug and plug back in the MIDI device?

No, I never do that.

It happen very often when unplug and plug the jack cable to the audio output.
Also it happens sometimes randomly.

Do you see any messages printed to the console when that happens?

I usually use the bela on "run on boot" without connecting to the computer. But I will do some experiments with it connected to the computer and checking the console of the IDE. Let's see

you can also access the log of the project running on boot if you connect to the IDE while it's running, though I doubt there would be any difference due to that.
