IDE not loading and external drive BELABOOT not showing up

Hello!

The IDE has stoped loading anymore when plugging my BelaMini to the computer.

I tried all the things suggested to try in here (except updating the board with the lastest Bela image): https://learn.bela.io/using-bela/about-bela/troubleshooting-guide/#ide-does-not-load-in-the-browser

In fact, the external drive BELABOOT doesnt show up, so according to the article it should be “a problem with the USB connection or with the software on the Bela board”.

However, I cant update the Bela image as I need the IDE to do that right? Maybe I should flash it directly into the SD card, is that a good idea?

Any other ideas of things I could try?

Try reflashing the SD card and see if that works? If you have a spare, that should be easy enough. If you have projects on there that you want to kep a copy of , things are more complex unless you have access to a Linux machine (e.g.: a BeagleBone Black); or I can guide you through trying to log in via UART - if you have a UART adapter.

I did the reflashing of the SD card and now it works!

(As I already had a copy of the files in my computer I didn't need to make a backup from the sd card)

By the way, any idea of what could have happened? Corrupted SD card again?

sounds like it, but I am not sure why that would be the case. Did this happen while it was running a program at boot? Are you writing to disk repeatedly from your program?

When you are running the board embedded after development, if you don't need to write to disk, make sure you follow these recommendations: https://learn.bela.io/using-bela/bela-techniques/deploying-the-board/

maybe if this is the same SD card that failed previously, it could be that you need a new/different SD card?

Do you mean the other SD card I had corrupted some moths ago? This is another one for sure.

What do you mean by "writing to disk repeatedly?" Does changing the pd patch every few days count as that?

I meant something like writing text or audio to file or something similar. Are you printing a lot of values to the console?

It is neither printing values nor writing text or audio to file.

Well, as for now it seems it works well. Lets hope it stays like that.
