  • MIDI controller and MIDI sync, using a USB hub with Bela Mini

Hello!

I want my Bela Mini to receive midi notes and midi control messages from a controller and, at the same time, receive midi sync coming from a drum machine. My plan is to use a USB hub where I will connect both the midi controller and a midi interface to receive the MIDI sync through a 5-pins-midi cable like this one:

Does Bela Mini works well with USB hubs? Will it work well with the midi interface and the midi sync messages?

I just want to get sure that it is a good idea before spending the money on the usb hub and the midi interface.

Thank you very much for your attention.

The hub shouldn't be a problem. So long as all the usb midi interfaces are class-compliant snd don't need drivers, it'll work software-wise, assuming it's properly powered. Given the limited current availability on the on board USB port (less than 500 mA) I'd recommend you to use a powered USB hub, especially if the connected devices are particularly power hungry.

Ok, I will take it into account. Thank you very much for your answer!
