  • Securing Bela Mini with cable ties

Hi all, I'm getting my first instrument with an embedded Bela Mini ready for performance, and I've been struggling a bit with securing the Mini so it doesn't flop about inside the box while I play. I've seen cable ties suggested in a couple of places (e.g. https://forum.bela.io/d/852-tips-for-physically-mounting-a-bela-mini) but I just wanted to check where on the Mini these can be added - can they just be run through the inside of the device? Or will that cause heating problems and the ties should go over the top of it, or something else? I'd appreciate any suggestions about this - I'm rather new to working with electronics like this, and a bit nervous of damaging the Mini.

Thanks!

No problems with heating, they could be passed through the board without problem. On the other hand, it may well be that the sockets are enough to hold it in place,.

giuliomoro Thanks so much for this! I used one cable tie passed through the board and it was as solid as a rock through both the flights (when it had to be on its side due to crazy-small cabin baggage requirements), rehearsals and performance. Delighted with the result - thank you!
