Ok thanks for the info.
I can successfully update from that revision of the board to the dev-NexusUI branch through the IDE. I am using
Chrome Version 55.0.2883.95 (64-bit) on MacOS X 10.11.5 . What is your operating system?
Would you be able to send me the output of the following commands (run them in the IDE):
df -h
ls -l /root/Bela/updates
ls -l /tmp/belaUpdate
the first will tell us if you ran out of space, the others will give us an idea of where the installation stopped.
To debug further, the easiest option is for us to debug here locally, so it would be helpful if we could have a copy of the files on your board.
Ideally, you would copy your SD image to a file and send it over to us, but I understand that this can be time and bandwidth consuming and requires tools you may not have. Yet, this would allow us to debug the issue more efficiently.
Otherwise, a much simpler approach follows, to send us only the /root/Bela
folder:
you can type the following commands in the console at the bottom of the IDE:
rm -rf /root/Bela/projects/tar/bela.tar && tar cvzf /root/bela.tar /root/Bela/* && mkdir -p /root/Bela/projects/tar && mv /root/bela.tar /root/Bela/projects/tar && echo DONE, please refresh
once this is done, refresh the page and open the project called "tar". This will contain an archive (size about 30MB, depending on how many projects you have there). Please send that file over to us at info@bela.io.
After you do this, try to run the following in the terminal, to try to trigger the update manually:
make checkupdate && make update
if the latter goes to completion then your board should be successfully updated.
If you just need your board back in a working state, and don't have time to help us with the troubleshooting, then you can skip the above steps and you should be able to update with no problems using the scripts.:
if you are on mac, it should be as easy as unzipping the archive an double clicking on scripts/update_board
. Other operating systems may require you to open a terminal and type in some lines in order to run the scripts/update_board
file, see here for more info https://github.com/BelaPlatform/Bela/wiki/Interact-with-Bela-using-the-Bela-scripts.
NOTE: both approaches suggested above to give us a copy of your board will give us access to the files you have stored on the board. While we are not going to share those files with third parties, it is in your best interest to make sure that you are not sharing any sensitive information.
