How to properly power my Bela?

Hi!
I'm not sure what the best way to power the Bela. Until now I used it connected to my computer, and now it has to fly by itself.
I read in the official doc "barrel or micro-USB". The cable that comes with the kit is a mini-USB. Does powering by micro-USB bypass IDE to save CPU or something?
And I can't find what is the minimum supply power. I have here a 1A, not sure if it is enough.

It should say USB Mini instead of micro.
No cpu saving. The IDE is basically free in terms of cpu and power usage when not used. 1A is enough, probably 500mA would also be fine.

Just to know: does CPU usage value on IDE includes IDE consumption itself? Is it a lot?
My application run permanently, so I have to care about all of these questions.
