is anyone aware of an implementation for the detection of salient acoustic events. I found here a couple of projects that do pitch or beat tracking. What I am looking for is something more generic.
I.e. my Bela board should always react when there is some new acoustic event in the environment (recorded by the microphone). For example when another instruments starts to play in an orchestra.
So, far I use a simple threshold (when the amplitude is above a certain threshold, an event is triggered). However, that does not work too well, as not all onsets are only characterized by a higher amplitude relative to the background. Is anyone aware of a more sophisticated solution?
