  • Noise from microphone

I've been using the same hardware/software for a while now. It uses a mic, processes it with some supercollider stuff and sends it out the line out, to a simple noise reduction circuit. Sometimes the mic is noisy. Most recently the mic stopped working. I could still hear sample sounds without noise. The mic did produce some sound, but it was very quiet. I tried to turn up the gain [on my pa], I get a lot of feedback. I rebooted a few times, unplugged everything I think twice, and it started working again.

Is that indicative of anything with the bela board?

The intermittent behaviour suggests it may not be an issue with the Bela audio input but with the external circuit and/or the microphone. Can you double check the wiring and that all connections are firm? Does using a different audio input change anything?
