giuliomoro I did try refreshing it a few times, but I think I got it working by resetting the board. I wasn't using the QuNeo, and maybe I had previously reset the cape and not the board? The Keystep was working all the while when the IDE was behaving strangely if I'm remembering correctly. Anyway, it does seem to connect more reliably now, and seems to boot up the patch quickly and consistently. Big thank you for addressing this!
Just to circle back, I don't know what caused my board to break. It was driving the spring tank but it's had no problem doing that before and I'm sure we got the impedance right.. I put a piece of plastic under the board to try to keep it from shorting when I set it on the metal spring tank, maybe that plastic didn't insulate it properly? Could I have been under-powering it? I assume the board would require more amperage to drive a spring/speaker than a standard USB provides based on the necessity of the barrel when driving speakers..
I'm still hoping to drive this 10Ω spring tank https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/reverb-tank-accutronics-9ab3c1b-long-decay-3-spring
What are the approximate current requirements of the Bela driving this on one channel (the channels don't need to have the same load, right? having nothing connected to the other speaker out shouldn't hurt it?)
What sort of protections can I use? is there like a fuse I could protect it with?
Thank you!
