Adding more RAM to Bela ?

Hi !

I’m working on a fairly CPU-demanding project on Bela using Pure Data. I was wondering if I can add some RAM to Bela via the microSD or USB port on the BBB ? If not, can I offload some processing to another computer or Raspberry Pi via network or wi-fi ? If yes, how so ?

Just wondering if I have to simplify my project or power through. 😅

those suggestions don't work, no ram via microsd or usb.

do you work with puredata directly or compile the patch via heavy? have you tried adjusting the buffersize? (higher = more time for the CPU)

If you want to use Bela for the job, I think simplification is the way to go. If you cannot optimize you pd enough, maybe its worth to reimplement in plain c++ to avoid the pd overload. I feel confident that it will not be feasible to distribute the process. First of all you can only distribute the non-realtime stuff, and even doing that will probably require a substantial amount of work.
