I want to mount Pepper in my Eurorack case but I'm finding that its difficult to get USB connectors for the breakout board that fit into my case neatly.

I'm wondering if there's a way I can avoid the USB connections on the board and wire it in somehow, then I could take the excessively bulky sockets I bought for the breakout board and remove the plugs and wire them in directly at the Bela end?

Or is there a source of connection cables that don't involve cranky solutions like using adapters?

Have to send our apologies about this – the USB Breakout solution for Pepper is far from ideal and it can be quite a tight fit depending on your rails.

Were you able to get your hands on the right angle to panel mount cables listed in the BOM? https://github.com/BelaPlatform/bela-pepper/wiki/Bill-of-Materials

Now that we sell full DIY kits we were thinking about buying up a bunch which we can offer on the shop as they are not the easiest to source.

If you are still having issues fitting everything into your case with these cables then you could in theory replace the USB Host cable, which connects to the USB A socket on the beaglebone at the bottom of the module, with a breakout cable soldered directly to the 4 pins which are exposed on the bottom of the beaglebone.

This is a delicate bit of soldering and will require a steady hand as there are quite a few small components close by.

bela_robert Ah-ha, I thought I saw those connectors on the Thonk website and couldn't find them again. I'll check these out, they may fit better than the ones I found on Amazon.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
