The error when you try to "re-load the kernel module" is due to the fact that on your old MacOS the module is located somewhere else (/System/Library/Extensions/HoRNDIS.kext
), so for you those commands should look like:
sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/HoRNDIS.kext
sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/HoRNDIS.kext
anyway, these are needed only if the board is not available over ssh, which actually was for you, because you managed to use update_board
. It's good that update_board
worked for you. I think it is also a bit faster than updating through the IDE.
I think the issue you had with the IDE not responding could have been solved with a reboot of the board.
Anyhow, all is well that ends well, unfortunately not being able to reproduce the issue on my side makes it very difficult to troubleshoot it. I tried different updates and all seem to work fine here, except occasionally the IDE does not restart at the end of the update and it needs a manual reboot.
