The Ironing maidens – embedded iron instruments
I am seeking a mentor/tutor to work with on my master’s project. I’m looking at using Bela, PD, sensors, haptics motors, speakers, LEDs to create a network of three instruments embedded inside irons. At this stage, I’m exploring using granular synthesis, but I’m open to other styles of sound generation. I’d like the instruments to be able to modulate parameters in other irons in the network via physical patch cables (modular style). The instruments will be used to create a sound work for an installation.
I have no shortage of ideas, just some limitations in my coding knowledge and the processes involved in effectively using sensor data.
I have until the end of April to refine my designs and start the instruments to create a sound work.
