Hi all,

A curious problem just happened to me : I own a Bela I didn't use yet and just tried to boot it.
After a while, it appears on my computer's desktop as "Beaglebone" instead "Belaboot".
Of course, it's not recognized by the IDE.
I tried to insert the microSD card in another Bela and Bela Mini and it was ok so, it seems to be a hardware troubleshooting.
Any idea ??
Best !
Nicolas.

In August 2017 (I think ... or maybe one year later?) we started shipping Bela starter kits with a flashed eMMC (internal memory). Before then we were shipping them with an SD card, leaving the internal "BEAGLEBONE" memory untouched. So it would seem you have one such old starter kit and it may be that either the SD card reader is damaged (sometimes the pins at the bottom get bent), or that you had the SD card not fully inserted when you powered it up.

I think those Bela were bought in 2019 or 2020.
I try to explain differently : I have several Belas. Each SD card works great if I try to interchange them (they boot as Belaboot).
If I take any of them and insert it in the "defective" Bela, it boots as Beaglebone and the Bela isn't found by the IDE.
This Bela is brand new, I never used it before.
What can I do ?

I see, so maybe it wasn't flashed properly by us. You can follow option 1 or 3 and Common Steps on this page with a working SD card inserted in the SD card slot and that should reflash the internal memory.
