USB MIDI-input not working with faust

Hello there!
I'm trying to get MIDI via USB working with Faust, using the simplest patch I could find (https://hvc.berlin/control/faust-midi/). Compiled it using this command:
faust2bela -midi -tobela test.dsp
I'm feeding MIDI-signals to the Bela via Jack2 and a2j (physical inputs and Ardours virtual keyboard), but there is no reaction.
Does it only work with actual MIDI-Hardware connected to the Bela? Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I'm using Bela 4d704a0 and Faust ee2cefd, but same result with 2.33.1 (release)

Hmmm I am confused about you using jack2 and a2j ... Are you running them on the host?

The Faust programs use hw:1,0,0 by default, which is normally the first USB midi device you plug into Bela itself. If you want to use the one that shows up on the host, that one is hw:0,0,0 . To use that you should modify readFrom(0) and writeTo(0) (which use the default) with readFrom("hw:0,0,0") and writeTo("hw:0,0,0") .

Yeah, sorry for the confusing description, the term "USB" is kind of ambiguous in this context 😉
I was actually trying to use the midi connection on the host, and the suggested solution works perfectly! Thanks a lot!
