nickcamillo the above changes are working really well for me, it's the fastest I've been able to get these displays to update so far and a marked improvement. that said, when i have to update many at once, you can still see them updating in order.

This is impossible because they are all using the same I2C bus. As there are 2 I2C busses available on the headers, you could consider splitting your displays over the 2 different busses, making sure that each display from the display pairs whose synchronised update you care about the most are on two separate busses. At that point having two threads, one per I2C bus, should improve the synchronisation significantly.

@giuliomoro I successfully got my repo re-initialized on the bela after it got wiped, but I'm hitting an error when trying to compile u8g2 now:

In file u8g2/common/linux-i2c.c: 'u8x8.h' file not found column: 10, line: 11
...
...
/root/Bela/projects/looper-oleds/u8g2/common/linux-i2c.c:11:10: fatal error: 'u8x8.h' file not found

I've validated that the file does exist within u8g2/csrc. Any ideas?

it's missing project.json, namely you need to add this in the "Make parameters" field of the project setings: CFLAGS=-I$(PROJECT_DIR)/u8g2/csrc; CPPFLAGS=-I$(PROJECT_DIR)/u8g2/csrc;

Hi @giuliomoro, long time no see!

I'm attempting to follow the instructions for preparing for standalone: https://learn.bela.io/tutorials/pure-data/advanced/preparing-for-standalone/

When I select my project, I get this error in the console. I'm not sure what it's referring to. Any ideas?

make: *** empty string invalid as file name.  Stop.
error setting project to run on boot!

Try removing the last semicolon from the make parameters box
