I'm still deciding on whether I should buy a Bela for this synth that I wanted to make. What I'm planning to make is a patchable synth that you can use anywhere you want. It will have:
- a mini patchbay (8 ins & 8 outs)
- a screen (mainly displaying text)
- a few buttons
- receive power via usb or battery
The patchbay will be like volca modular or Bastl Kastle. Instead of using 3.5mm patch cables, it will use jumper wires.
I have some experience programming with Arduino, Pure Data & Max MSP, but I haven't learnt C++ coding yet. My goal is to use Pure Data to interface and control everything from the screen to the patchbay.
My question is, if I wanted to do all of the stuff above (no enclosure or MIDI yet), how easy or difficult is it? And is the Bela suitable for this project?
