New Bela

Hi,

I have bought a new Bela but can't access to the IDE. I'm on Mojave 10.14.6. The lights are not blinking. I have gone through the guides but couldn't make it happen. As far as I understand I don't need drivers on Mojave, however will it help if I install the drivers? My previous Bela is booting up from an SD card and that works fine. Do I need to use an SD card for this one as well?

Hi there,
sorry that you are having troubles with one of the boards. From your description, it would seem that the board is probably OK but it may need to be reflashed. Do you have an SD card and an SD card reader at hand? If you do, you can follow the instructions here to download the image and flash the SD card. Otherwise, we can send you a pre-flashed SD card if you prefer but that wouldn't ship before Wednesday next week and I am not sure what the transit times are like right now.

If inserting a newly flashed SD card the LEDs behave the same, use Option 3 here to force it to boot from the SD card: https://learn.bela.io/using-bela/about-bela/troubleshooting-guide/#problems-booting-bela-from-the-sd-card .
If everything works fine, you can then follow the instructions at the bottom of the first page to use the SD card to flash the eMMC (the internal storage of the beaglebone), so you can go back to using it without SD card.

Hi,

I successfully booted up Bela after flashing an SD card but I noticed that in the network settings there were 2 Belas connected. It was a foolish of me, I deleted the Belas in the Network list, thinking that Bela would create a new network setting while booting up, but now it doesn't boot up 🙁 I see the Belaboot drive but can not reach to the IDE. I tried to adding Bela to the Network list manually. As you can see in the screenshot, There are two Belas that I can add, but they don't work.

What should I do in this case?

Just add them both and set them to auto/DHCP

Or you could click on the one that's in red on the ledt hand side and do the same there I think

Ok so apperantly the beagleboard.org image was flashed in the eMMC. I think that's why it wasn't booting up. I have updated it using /opt/Bela/bela_flash_emmc.sh command. And then I have executed: /opt/Bela/bela_bootloader.sh , and now It boots up from the SD card without the jumpers. Thats good! But it doesn't boot up from the eMMC. I think it is enough for me to boot up from SD card but would be nice to have full functionality.

can you show the output of the /opt/Bela/bela_flash_emmc.sh command ?

While re-executing the command to show you the output, I noticed that I wasn't patient while I was flashing the eMMC. Now it flashed the eMMC successfully, and it boots up from the internal memory.
