an error occurred while executing the uploader.py script

Hi, I'm trying to build my first script using the beginners guide. I just installed python, homebrew and (i think) all the necessary python objects the guide told me to. However when I execute the
./build_pd_heavy.sh ../examples/08-PureData/basicAnalogIn

from the scripts folder inside the bela-master folder on my desktop (or should it be copied and run from the BBB mounted disc..?)

i get the

ERROR: an error occurred while executing the uploader.py script

there is obviously a problem with my python, is there a chance to get pointed in a direction where i might have missed something?

hi,
the script needs to be run from the host computer, so you seem to be doing fine.

Try this in your terminal:

python --version

what does it return?

Also, do you get any additional error message before ERROR: an error occurred while executing the uploader.py script ?

Hi, thanks for the reply. It returns

Python 2.7.5

And yes, before that error i get this

"ImportError: No module named requests"

right, this means you have not installed the python requests package !

Hi, I've done all the steps one more time and now the error is different.
It now prompts me for a username and password, but trying my regular usrname and pwd doesn't work. Ive tried root and password, and writing the 192.168.7.2 as username. But it won't accept it.

Hey @bamsehopp, have you created an account at http://enzienaudio.com? You need to first do this and then make a project called bela on the same website. The username/password that the uploader script prompts is for this account you've set up on enzien. Once you've provided the right credentials you won't have to give them again when using the script in the future.
