i need to connect 8 speakers together and control them via microcontroller.
i'm not strong in hardware searching but know how to work with arduino and Raspberry pi,and i would like to know if bela have the abilities to help me.
we have the CTAG boards, which have 4 inputs and 8 outputs: https://blog.bela.io/2018/05/08/CTAG-multichannel-audio-cape/
You can program Bela in C++, PureData, Supercollider, Csound.
Quick question: would those 8 additonal outputs be powered so speakers can be directly connected?

no, you would need powered speakers, or some speaker amps (e.g.: one of these can drive two separate channels, so you'd need 4 of these for 8 speakers).
I also need to connect and control 8 speakers!
Do you know if it would be possible with the audio expander capelet at a lower sample rate instead of a CTAG board?
Yes it would be. Again, you'll need some external power amps. Mind you, the audio quality of the expander capelet is lower than that of the CTAG. See here for more details.
giuliomoro Ok, thanks a lot!
