Hi, I recently upgraded my MacBook Air to Catalina and now there is no way to connect Bela using "bela.local" address via usb cable. The hd icon appears on the desktop, but nothing else happens.
Using an iMac with Mojave everything works fine.
thanks in advance
ha! we haven't tried out Catalina. Can you try http://192.168.7.2 ? If that doesn't work, can you ran the command ifconfig on your terminal and send the output it generates?
Hi Giulio, sorry for the delay... everything works now, Catalina needs of HoRNDIS 9.2. version included in the last Bela image is not compatible. I was in wrong because with Mojavi I haven't installed any driver.
oh that's annoying. Is there a page online where you found more information?
no, I just tried
Hi, I am having problems after the upgrade to Catalina. Tried to use HornDIS 9.2 modified to work on Catalina, but with no success. In the network preferences the connection between the Bela and the PC is flagged with red (cable unplugged). ping does not work as well. Any help is appreciated
Did you follow the advice here to allow installation and execution in Security and Privacy? https://github.com/jwise/HoRNDIS/issues/102#issuecomment-541237232
giuliomoro yes, I did. Installation of HornDIS was successful, but no way of seeing the Bela also after a reboot.
can you run sudo dmesg, hit enter, type your password, hit enter, in your terminal one minute after plugging in the board ad post the results?
Also, when using HORNDiS you will have to access the board at 192.168.6.2 (or bela.local)
giuliomoro Hi, I solved this issue. After a number of unproductive tentatives, I removed the HoRNDIS.kext file in the folder Library/StagedExtensions/Library/Extensions. Only the one in Library/Extensions is now present.
Everything now works correctly. Thanks for the assistance
