Hello all, it's been a few months since I've been on here as life got busy, but I'm hoping to get started on some more projects with Bela and hope to be a little more active on the forum.
I wanted to start a discussion about what the best grounding practices are for audio projects to help avoid unwanted audible noise. I haven't done a lot of digging but it seems like there's a lot of conflicting information on what the best grounding practices are in audio electronics, especially when you have a system like the Bela composed of analog and digital inputs and outputs running on the same board as audio ins and outs.
Is it best to have a star ground configuration for every component which meets at the supply ground? Or should a chassis ground be used when possible? Should analog, digital, and audio grounds be kept separate? Sometimes I feel like grounding is a non-issue, since currents are typically very low and wire runs are short on these projects, but I feel like I might be naive for thinking that.
Edit to say, grounding is a non issue for component grounding to the Bela, not grounding the Bela to a power supply.
