disable bela as a USB mass storage device - ok?

Hi,

Id like to disable Bela appearing as a USB Mass storage device,
as detailed in these posts

Will this causes issues for any of the interaction with the IDE etc?

(the reason I want to do this, is I have a 'trick' where I power the BBB from a USB hub that it also hosts... this allows me to use the powered usb hub to power both power hungry usb devices, and also the BBB simultaneously)

ok, seems fine...

you file you need to change is:

/opt/boot-scripts/am335x_evm.sh

then at about 3/4 of the way down the file, find the line with 'modprobe g_multi'

modprobe g_multi file=/dev/mmcblk0p1 cdrom=0 stall=0 removable=1 nofua=1 iSerialNumber=${SERIAL_NUMBER} iManufacturer=Circuitco  iProduct=BeagleBone${BLACK} host_addr=${cpsw_1_mac}

comment this out, and then add a line for g_ether which will just provide ethernet over usb (assuming you want this still), so mine is now:

#modprobe g_multi file=/dev/mmcblk0p1 cdrom=0 stall=0 removable=1 nofua=1 iSerialNumber=${SERIAL_NUMBER} iManufacturer=Circuitco  iProduct=BeagleBone${BLACK} host_addr=${cpsw_1_mac}
modprobe g_ether host_addr=${cpsw_1_mac}
